Whether you’re thinking about moving your family or your company, Franklin extends a Texas-sized welcome and full community services to make your relocation a success. Our schools, our mild climate, our growing economy, and our proximity to a major metropolitan area all combine to make Franklin a great place to visit, a great place to work, and a great place to live.

The City of Franklin is centrally located among the Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio metroplexes.  US Highway 79 is the major highway that serves Franklin.  Starting near Texarkana, US 79 crosses all of East Texas ending in the Austin Metroplex.

The major goals of the Economic Development Committee are the creation of new jobs, increasing the sales tax base and improving the quality of life in Franklin.  The Committee is working to develop a 44-acre Industrial Park on land purchased by the City with access to Highway 79 and the Union Pacific Railroad.

The City of Franklin has both 4A and 4B Economic Development Sales Tax Corporations.  The 4A Sales Tax from these Corporations can be used for Infrastructure, Industrial and Manufacturing Development within the City.  The 4B Sales Tax can be used to promote and develop new and expanded business enterprises that create jobs and develop projects to improve the quality of life.

For additional information on Economic Development opportunities and incentives, please contact City Hall at 979-828-3257.
