The Franklin Volunteer Fire Department is an all-volunteer department that responds to emergency calls within the City of Franklin and Robertson County. The department is located at 316 Glass Street. Non-emergency telephone messages can be left at 979-828-5831 and are checked by the volunteers as time allows.

The mission of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department is to preserve life, property and promote public safety. 

The Franklin Volunteer Fire Department currently has the ability to manage a wide scope of emergency situations such as fire suppression, vehicle extrication, hazardous material and medical assistance to Robertson County EMS.  The Department is solely operated on a volunteer basis and as of today has attained its highest membership number since its establishment in 1946.  These members attend meetings, fund raisers, and training on a regukar basis, not to mention approximately 300 fire and medical calls a year.  The department currently has two EMT-Paramedics, seven EMT-Basics and three ECA’s, as well as three EMT-Basic students in the process of becoming certified.

The Franklin Volunteer Fire Department takes the utmost pride in providing the best service possible to the citizens in its 308 square mile response area.
